This six-day tour will make you visit Volcanoes National Park which is located in the northwest of Rwanda and accommodates the last mountain gorillas in the world with other ecosystems. Nyungwe National Park is located in the southwest of Rwanda and it accommodates 13 species of primates and other ecosystems.
DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
Arrival
- You’ll be collected from the airport.
- Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.
Depending on your landing time at the airport, our English/French speaking staff/driver-guide will come to pick you up from the airport. Then, you'll drive to the Kigali City tour where you will get a chance to explore and visit different sites of the city such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the biggest local market in Kigali called Kimironko, Nyamirambo where Kigali is a capital, and many more interesting sites for travelers. Then, a Lion Safaris driver-guide will choose the best restaurant in the city to have lunch. After enjoying lunch, you will drive to your booked hotel and check in for dinner and your overnight stay.
You will wake up in the morning and then have your breakfast. After that, our driver-guide will come to pick you up and then drive you to the Northern province of Rwanda where Volcanoes National Park is located. On arrival, you will continue with check-in at your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Early in the morning, after your breakfast, with your packed lunch, our driver-guide will come to pick you up from the lodge and then drive you to the park headquarters where to get a briefing about how to behave on mountain gorillas when you meet them in the habitat. Then, you'll proceed to trek gorillas. After the remarkable experience with the gorillas, the driver-guide will take you back to your lodge for a hot lunch. Afterward, you will continue with visiting twin lakes which are Bulera and Ruhondo with a driver-guide. After the lake enjoyment, he will bring you back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
In the morning, after your breakfast, a Lion Safaris driver-guide will come to pick you up and then drive you to the southwest of Rwanda where the park is located. You will be enjoying the beautiful rolling hills of Nyungwe National Park. On arrival at the park, you will check into your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
You will wake up and get your early morning breakfast. Then with your packed lunch from the lodge, our driver-guide will come to pick you up then drive you to the boundary of Nyungwe forest where you will jump in with a local guide to trek chimps. On arrival in the chimpanzee family, you will be given time to observe them and take as many photos as you can. After that special enjoyment, you will come back to the driver-guide who will drive you back to your booked lodge then wait for dinner and an overnight stay.
You will wake up in the morning and get your breakfast. After that, you will check out then our driver-guide will come to pick you up. You'll go back to the capital of Rwanda, Kigali, where depending on your flight time you will be dropped at the airport or your hotel/home.
Here depending on your flight time, you can profit from visiting the Rwanda King Palace Museum which preserves Rwanda history on your way back to Kigali.
