Terms & Conditions
These terms govern the agreement between SunAfrika Safaris and you, our valued travellers. By confirming your booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to all terms below.
Booking and Payment Policy
- All services are subject to availability and are not guaranteed until confirmed in writing.
- A deposit of 30% (camping safaris) or 50% (mid-range and above) of the total value per person is required at the time of booking. If a higher deposit is required for a specific tour, this will be communicated before confirmation.
- The remaining balance is due on arrival, before the start of the tour, unless otherwise indicated.
- At the time of booking, full passport details are required for all passengers. Names must appear exactly as they do in the passport.
Prices
- All prices are quoted and payable in US Dollars unless otherwise stated.
- Prices are subject to change without notice and are not guaranteed until the time of written confirmation.
- Prices are per person, as per the agreed itinerary. Unless stated otherwise, they include: overnight accommodation as specified; national park and game reserve entrance fees; overland transportation; domestic air transportation where indicated; driver and guide fees; three meals per day as specified; unlimited mineral water during safari (excluding at lodges/camps); coffee and tea twice daily during safari; and unlimited game drives.
Descriptions and Service
- All information and descriptions (including accommodation and activities) are based on the latest available information and are given in good faith. SunAfrika Safaris is not liable for deviations from these descriptions.
- Transport provided will vary according to the itinerary and group size. We ensure vehicles are maintained in a roadworthy condition and have contact information for rescue vehicles in all national parks to minimise delays. However, we accept no liability for breakdowns, punctures, road conditions, or resulting delays.
- We reserve the right to use subcontractors where necessary.
- We do not guarantee wildlife sightings — animals are wild and unpredictable. Our guides will always work diligently to maximise your wildlife experiences.
Please note that the itinerary provided is an intended guide and may vary for logistical reasons. We will strive to deliver every activity or, where necessary, provide a suitable substitution.
Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellation by You
All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email and acknowledged by SunAfrika Safaris. Any telephone notification must be confirmed in writing within 24 hours and is effective from the date we are notified, provided written confirmation is received within that period.
Cancellation charges are based on the total tour price and applied as follows:

No Refund Will Be Given For
- Itinerary changes made after departure.
- Any unused portions of the tour after departure.
- Lost travel time or substitution of facilities.
- Failure to join a tour, joining after departure, or leaving prior to its completion.
Cancellation by SunAfrika Safaris
We reserve the right to cancel your booking and apply cancellation charges (as outlined above) if the balance due is not paid by the agreed deadline.
SunAfrika Safaris may cancel a tour up to 60 days before the start date. After this point, we will only cancel in circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, we will offer:
- Alternative arrangements of a similar nature, standard, and price, if available.
- Arrangements of a lower standard, with the price difference refunded.
- More expensive arrangements, with the price difference payable by you.
- A full refund.
SunAfrika Safaris accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from cancellations.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that you obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, personal accident, personal baggage, money, and public liability before you travel.
We accept no responsibility for any injuries or losses incurred during optional activities outside the services booked with us, nor for the theft, loss, or damage to personal belongings at any time during your safari.
Weather Conditions
SunAfrika Safaris cannot be held responsible for weather conditions that may affect the delivery or implementation of our itinerary. East Africa's wildlife calendar is influenced by seasonal patterns, and while we plan accordingly, weather remains outside our control.
No Smoking Policy
Smoking is not permitted on any of our vehicles. Many hotels, lodges, camps, and public areas you will visit during your safari also enforce no-smoking policies. Guests are required to comply with all applicable regulations at every location visited.
