- Lake Nakuru — Home to vast flocks of flamingoes and one of Kenya's best spots to see both white and black rhino, Lake Nakuru National Park is a compact but incredibly rich wildlife reserve. The alkaline lake attracts an astonishing variety of birdlife, and leopards are regularly spotted in the fever tree forests surrounding the shore. Maasai Mara National Reserve — Kenya's most celebrated wildlife reserve needs no introduction. The Mara is the stage for the Great Wildebeest Migration, where over 1.5 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle thunder across the plains between July and October. Year-round, the reserve is home to the densest concentration of big cats in Africa — lion, leopard and cheetah are all regularly sighted. Lake Naivasha — A freshwater lake in the Rift Valley floor, Naivasha offers a calmer, more tranquil contrast to the open savannah.
